I chose Merry Maids for my cleaning service because I thought they were well-known enough to be trustworthy. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I hired Merry Maids to come clean my house. After giving them the square footage of my house and the number of rooms and bathrooms, I was quoted $85 per hour and they said it would take approximately 4 hours to clean my house thoroughly. After 2 hours of working practically in slow-motion, they stopped for lunch. Two hours was supposed to be the half-way point, but they cleaned so slowly that they had only finished one and a half guest rooms and one and a half guest bathrooms. These rooms are barely ever used and were barely even dirty. When the ladies got back from their HOUR AND A HALF lunch break, I asked them to skip the smaller living room, the dining room, and my office, and get straight to the kitchen and the family room since we were running short on time. In the next hour, they had cleaned half of the bathroom and half of the living room. Since it had already been 3 hours (not counting the hour and a half lunch) I asked the ladies to stop what they were doing and just clean the floors for the last hour since we were running short of time, at which point one of the ladies responded "Oh don't worry, I'm not charging you for the half-hour lunch." I replied "You mean the hour and a half lunch?" She didn't say anything, and started on the floors. They finished the floors, and presented me with the paperwork to sign. There was nowhere to write in the number of hours worked, so I just wrote it in on the paper I signed because I thought there might be a problem. I was right. I got charged for 5 hours of work when they were there for 4 hours. Plus, I had to clean my own master bedroom, master bathroom, half of the kitchen, half of the family room, office, and dining room. That's over half of the house I had to clean myself AND I was overcharged by an hour when I had made sure to write in how many hours they were actually there. I even have proof on my phone of her phone call to me an hour and 15 minutes into her lunchbreak calling to tell me that they had gotten lost and would be late coming back. I called Katherine, the manager of that branch to get this taken care of. At first she was really nice, but she never took care of it, and never called me back when she said she would, and she has avoided my calls from that point on.
