Review 9/8/2010
I signed up for two services through creditreport.com, credit reports and credit scrore, with the intention of cancelling soon after (as their pricing was exorbitant). The online signup process was fast and easy, and I was able to access the products as advertised.

I soon realized that there was no online option for cancelling service. This was a red flag immediately indicating that I was dealing with a company with little integrity, as a good business will provide more customer control. When a company has sensible and accessible cancellation processes I am much more likely to reuse the service in the future.

I then attempted to cancel via email, which was responded to with a request for my account number, which I thought reasonable. However, I had received no email with the account number in it, nor was it displayed anywhere on their website while logged in. I suppose it was only displayed once during signup.

After paying for another month of the service that I didn't want, I found time to call during their limited service hours. Upon hearing that I wished to cancel the representative launched into a breathless retention pitch that continued for several minutes before I finally had to raise my voice to cut her off. She tried to scare me with dire predictions of ID theft and offered to cut the price to almost half of what I had been paying. Finally she agreed to cancel the account, and wanted to give me a cancellation confirmation number. I told her that I didn't have a pen/paper to record it, but she insisted on reading it to me anyway. We agreed that she would send me an email confirmation with the number, which I have still not received, even after sending them a follow-up email.

I am fully expecting to be charged again by the company, and will be watching my transactions carefully. I am understandably nervous in this situation considering the information required for them to access my credit report contains everything needed to steal my ID, including my social security number. I went as far as to enable a fraud alert with the credit bureaus for fear of retaliation. I was amazed to find that Mighty Net is a BBB accredited business, causing me to question the value of the BBB logo.
