Nexon's games are quite enjoyable, and rather addicting. I started playing maplestory about 4 years ago, back when the game was very new and fresh. My first impression of the game was a good one, with the community and gameplay friendly and enjoyable. But that's all a vague memory. I stopped playing for around 2 years in between, and when I logged back on for a long time, The game had begun to release some explosive changes. All of a sudden, Nexon was adding a avalanche of new classes. At first it was a pleasant change. But then Nexon began releasing more, and more. I began to get suspicous about the game when Nexon released a class, Dual Bladers, which required NX (in-game currency bought with real money; 1000 NX = 1 USD) to unlock the skills pertaining to the class. The idea seemed all right at first, but the farther I looked into the class, the greedier Nexon became. The skillbooks with required NX had some rather high prices compared to the other NX items, and all the skills were the important skills of the class. Great. If anyone wanted to play the class to its full extent, they'd have to cough up at least 30-50 dollars worth of NX. I thought that was the worst of it. Later, after many useless and annoying updates claiming to "fix known issues" I began to have technical issues with the game. All of a sudden, the game began crashing randomly, and Nexon GameMaster messages popping up saying that "You are blocked for the Hack reason." WHATS IS UP WITH THIS? Nexon is blocking legitimate players now? Thankfully, it wasn't permanant. I contimued playing, even with these blocks. A few game updates later, when nexon was claiming to "fix game compatibility issues" I encountered the problem of not being able to start the game at all. So i sent a ticket to Nexon (tickets are the company's way to get in contact with the customer support) stating my problem. I was hopeful for an answer, as it was my first time using the support system. I waited a full 6 weeks until a reply came. The reply, at first glance, seemed useful. I tried the solutions and none of them worked. So I sent another ticket. I waited about a month for that one to get answered. when I took a look, the EXACT SAME ANSWER as my previous problem was given. I suspected automatically generated answeres. Since then, I have submitted about 30 tickets so far, all related to the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GAME MAINTINENCE, and all of them, ALL OF THEM have gotten either auto-genereated answer A, or auto genereated answer B. example of one ticket I submitted later on. "I have this game problem, can you help me? I have already tried Solution A, Solution B, Solution C, so on. Are there any other solutions? because none of them work." NEXON:"hello! we are sorry to hear about your problem. Try Solution A. if that doesnt work, go to Solution B. if that doesnt work, go to Solution C. then D. then..." ARE YOU KIDDING ME NEXON. THIS IS FULL PROOF THAT YOU DO NOT PUT ANY EFFORT INTO CUSTOMER SERVICE. In the end, you are eventually forced to give up. Nexon has some pretty good games, but the WORST ABSOLUTE WORST customer support service I have ever seen, in game and out of the gaming world too. Play the games, if you can but DO NOT PAY THEM ANY MONEY. THEY WILL SCAM YOU.
