Here is the current situation about Nexon America with some proof.
I have used one of the services that Nexon America provides for about 2 years. The thing about Nexon America is that there is almost zero customer support even with numerous major issues with the services they provide.
As a Dungeon Fighter Online player, it had come to my attention that as of 8/5/11, their forum is filled with cries about issues that continue to remain unsolved. Here's a link to the forums - you can find out for yourself after spending 5minutes to scroll through the topics of the first couple pages.

Most of the topics covered cries for aid against the recent string of hacked accounts despite their reasonable security measures, their accounts randomly getting locked/banned for violations they did not commit(most commonly hackers inputting password wrong three times), their complaints about tickets submitted over a year and a half ago that had not come to a conclusion (http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o232/Jason0470/Untitled-2.jpg), and generally the complete disconnect between the company and the general user base.
DFO isn't the only game with issues, however, as their support portal seem to be lacking in all games they service. It had come to a point of a certain incident in their other service, Combat Arms. As a result of their continued ignorance toward their players, the players were rioted when they found working "hacks" for the game posted right on the public forums with evidence of how easily available and safe these 3rd party programs are. They threatened to sue and began to express their vulgarity on their posts out of frustration towards Nexon's complete negligence. As things were getting extremely out of hand, Nexon decided to take disciplinary actions against their customers.(http://forum.nexon.net/CombatArms/forums/thread/7918066.aspx
) As for the link to the post with the hack contained thread, it was removed for obvious reasons.
In short, there is no other choice for users but to remain helpless against unjustified actions taken against their will. This has happened before and their problems have remain unsolved for years. According to the Consumerist(http://consumerist.com/2010/03/nexon-isnt-the-worst-company-in-america-but-that-doesnt-make-it-good.html), the CEO, Daniel Kim, is well aware of the problem and state that it is not possible to assign employees to go head on with the hackers because hackers are simply addicts who cannot stop.Meanwhile, Nexon in Korea implemented a user friendly and reliable hack recovery system (http://forum.nexon.net/DungeonFighterOnline/forums/thread/7913536.aspx) to compensate for their lack of security and Nexon NA is yet to give a statement about this problem.
Finally, here is a quote from the aforementioned Consumerist report,
"...Three months ago people began losing access to their accounts in Nexon's largest game, MapleStory. They would log on to find that their PIN had been changed (a secondary form of weak security, there are easily available PIN crackers by searching google) or that their characters were stripped of all items, money and NX. It seemed to start small; some of the fan-sites would see threads about being "hacked" which were typically dismissed by the player-base as the account owners having downloaded a keylogger or having lost their accounts to social engineering. After a while, it grew to an unusually large number of people claiming to have lost their accounts. ...
Our personal and virtual identities are at risk every second of every day and Nexon is doing nothing to protect us. They are far more concerned about protecting their reputation (insisting there was no database breach and that they've done nothing wrong) and continuing to make money, which is why it's so important that this be brought to light of the public. Those of us who are working day and night to try and get answers and to protect ourselves are no loud enough to make anyone hear."
