Review 12/15/2009
I am very dissatisfied with this company for several reasons. I bought a car from them in October of 2009, thinking I had gotten a really good deal on a cute little car. I was impressed by their slogan "all cars have been safety inspected and smog certified". I was under the impression I was getting something cheap and safe, so I didn't bother to ask for proof that the car had been inspected. When I left the lot, the first thing I noticed was that the brakes were grinding, but I was happy anyway and figured I'd fix it myself because it wasn't too expensive. Then, two weeks later, the car overheated and I was stranded. I took the car to have it looked at and found out there was a major coolant leak, plus the oil had not been changed in months and the guy told me that I was only a few miles away from blowing my head gasket. I had to pay $130 to get an oil change plus an engine flush because the sludge was causing the car to run poorly. The car overheated again the next weekend and I took it back-the coolant had emptied itself through the leak. I also started to notice the transmission slipping about 3 weeks after purchasing it. Since I bought a warranty, I took it back to have it looked at. They told me they drove it for 10 miles and there was no transmission issue. They charged me out-of-pocket to fix the coolant leak. Once I took the car home, I noticed the same issue with the transmission so I took it back to a mechanic that I trust and he pointed out repairs that would need to be done that would cost me around $4800 for transmission and burnt clutch plus another $400 to get new tires. He also said that there was a crack in the housing for the coolant, whih I had THOUGHT I just paid the dealer to have fixed. I have come close to an accident twice because of the breaks and have had 2 different mechanics advise me not to drive the car because it was unsafe. My drivers seat is also broken, it does not lock down. Every time I have tried to contact or go down to the dealership, I get pushed aside while they assist other customers and I find myself sitting there for almost an hour every time. I hardly get return phone calls and when I do call and reach someone I am treated poorly by the staff. One guy even got annoyed and said someone would have to call me back later because he was "with a customer". HELLO, am I not a customer? I will not name names but everyone I have dealt with has been very unprofessional. I had to get help from the finance company and they are helping me resolve the issue even though it is not their job to do so. The last time I went there I was yelled at and belittled with rude comments about this "being an auction" and that I have to take the car "as-is" and there is "nothing I can do about it". He said the they are "not required to inspect the vehicle before purchase" and that all they are requird to do is oil change and brakes, which were not taken care of on my vehicle. Then he said they don't do brakes and oil change.. Ok so which is it? He also made comments about my credit saying that if I don't keep the car it will be marked as a reposession and I will "not qualify for a car" anywhere else. He made it very clear that he was upset because I got the bank involved. I did not find anyone at this place to be helpful in any manner and frankly I don't see myself ever doing business with this company again. If you are reading this and are thinking about purchasing a car from them, make sure you have the car inspected elsewhere before you buy and be careful of the interest rates... I was ripped off. I could have gotten a brand new car for twice as much and half the interest rate.
